
Biography
Bgirl Lunacee is from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and a band member of Frog Lake First Nation. She represents The Fly Girlz (Edmonton) and Deadly Venoms Crew (USA). She started breaking in 2003 and in 2006, was selected as 1 of 30 dancers in the world to train at The Red Bull Beat Riders Camp in New York with some of the originators and innovators of Hip Hop Culture. Selected accomplishments include: Performing and choreographing at the 2007, 2008, 2013 and 2015 Indspire Awards (formally the National Indigenous Achievement Awards), Performing and Choreographing for APTN National Indigenous Day Televised celebrations throughout the years of 2007-2023, 2016 PoundMaker Lodge Pow-Wow – Iron Woman Champion, Performing at the 2017 Juno Awards with The Halluci Nation, Recipient of the City of Calgary – Chief David Crowchild Memorial Award and Recipient of the City of Edmonton – Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts Youth Award, and a 2024 Recipient of the S&R Evermay Washington Award. She has also opened for artists such as Busta Rhymes, MuMu Fresh, D-Smoke, Lil Kim, TLC, Grandmaster Flash, Sean Paul, KRS One and The America Best Dance Crew tour to name a few. In 2016 she became one of the lead dancers for The Halluci Nation (Formally known as A Tribe Called Red) and has toured the world representing both First Nation and Hiphop culture on international stages. She was also a 2023-2024 Kennedy Center Culture Caucus Member and is currently a 2024-2025 Core partner for Woolly Mammoth Theatre and a dance educator for The Washington Ballet, City Dance DC, Dance Place DC & Elements Urban Arts Collective.
