the four elements

The core of the work Elements Urban Arts Collective (EUAC) produces is centered around the four elements of Hip Hop Culture. We use the term 'Urban Art' to encompass the progression of these elements but we maintain reverence to these elements as the foundation of Hip Hop culture. Graffiti

noun, Informal. 1. graffiti is writing or drawings that have been scribed, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surfaces in public places.

noun, Informal. 1. a disc jockey (DJ) is a person who mixes recorded music for an audience.

b-boy/b-girl

noun, Informal. 1. a style of acrobatic dancing that combines intricate footwork with spinning and tumbling, usually to funk or hip-hop music.

noun, Informal. 1. an MC, or rapper, is a music artist and/or performers who usually creates and performs vocals for his/her own original material.

Elements Dance Company

ELEMENTS DANCE COMPANY is a Pre-Professional Urban Dance Training Program for dancers ages 9-18.

Dancers in the program receive a comprehensive education in all forms of Urban Dance, such as b-boying/b-girling, Hip Hop, locking, popping, house, krumping, waacking, voguing, and various form of commercial dance. Dancers also have the opportunity to train with industry professionals and perform at many noteworthy events and venues.

Project Overture

Project Overture is an empowerment program which provides youth with exposure to and education in the music industry as a vehicle to foster self esteem, confidence, and creativity. Our program is geared towards youth (13-17) from disadvantaged communities, with an expressed interest in various aspects of the music industry.

Successful completion of the Project Overture week long intensive will provide students with:

An Introductory skill set which will serve as a foundation for further development and growth
A Social media site where student work can be displayed (Blog, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram)
Self produced work in chosen discipline
Network of resources for continued collaboration and growth

It is our hope the experience gained from participation will serve as a springboard for continued creativity and development.
